Wylie Catoe

Funeral services for Wylie Catoe, 81 of Kershaw will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013, in the sanctuary of Midway Baptist Church. The Revs. Todd Gandy and Todd Montgomery will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Catoe died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at his home. Born in the Taxahaw community of Kershaw, he was the son of the late Julius and Ethel Vincent Catoe. He retired from DuPont Co. and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Gladys Deese Catoe of the home; two sons, Carol T. Catoe (Sandra), Rex E. Catoe (Kathy); a daughter, Kim C. Roberts (Terry) all of Kershaw; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, William Catoe of Rock Hill, Sam Catoe of Jefferson; three sisters, Mabel Jenkins of Heath Springs, Fannie Mahaffey of Kershaw and Helen Catoe of Heath Springs. He was preceded in death by a grandson, a great granddaughter, a sister, Betty Hancock and two infant sisters. The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Saturday in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home, 7817 Flat Creek Rd., Kershaw.
