Wilson Read Luther, Jr.

Funeral services for Wilson Read Luther, Jr., 75, of Heath Springs, SC, and formerly of Upton, MA, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, in the sanctuary of Flint Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Kelvin Hinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The casket will be place in the church at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service in the Church Family Life Center.

Mr. Luther died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at his home. Born in Milford, MA, he was a son of the late Wilson Read Luther, Sr. and Dorathea Davin. Mr. Luther was a heavy equipment mechanic and a former part-time police officer for the Upton Police Department. He was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Luther was also a skilled scroll saw artist and loved to garden.

Surviving are his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara McKie Luther of the home; a step-daughter, Christine Prince Abbruzzese of Mendon, MA; a step-son, Buddy Prince of Garner, NC; 3 grandchildren, Megan Kelly Patchette, Sarah Ann Kelly and Zachary Thomas Kelly; 4 sisters, Roberta Joy Clements, Rachael Luther Carr, Rebecca Luther St. Vincent and Ruth Luther Maiato and 2 brothers, Davin Luther and Mark Luther. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles Ezra Luther and Gardner Church Luther.
