Willis Clayton Bowers

Memorial services for Willis Clayton Bowers, 69 of Cassatt will be held at 12:00 o’clock noon, Thursday, May, 17 on the grounds at his home, 2701 Providence Road, Cassatt. Family and friends are invited to attend. Pastor Cotton Pate will conduct the service.

Mr. Bowers died Monday, May 14 at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Cassatt, he was a son of Mary Lee Mahaffey Ruby and the late Everee Bowers. He was a logger and a truck driver. Mr. Bowers enjoyed fishing, hunting, feeding all types of wildlife and riding dirt roads.

Surviving are 3 children, Candy (Johnny) Lane of Gaston, Marshall (Bridgett) Bowers of Cassatt and Wendy (Ken) Odom of Cassatt; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Eugene (Sandra) Bowers and Gary (Rita) Bowers; 3 sisters, Elaine Huggins, Helen (Leon) Hall, Jan (Clarence) Atkinson and Patsy (Danny) Barnes; his life partner, Carol Bowers and step-children, Valarie Wiggins and Larry Small. He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Bowers.

The family will receive friends any time at the home.
