William Scott Phillips, age 91, of Kershaw, passed away, Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at his home. Born in Winston Salem, N.C., he was a son of the late Ashley Weaver Phillips and Blanche Petree Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a longtime cattle farmer. He was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mr. Phillips was a charter member of the Olde Towne Lions Club in Olde Towne, N.C. and served as a deacon for over 50 years. He was a US Army veteran and had also ministered as a choir director.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Coats Phillips.
Surviving are his loving wife of 10 years, Peggy Donahue Phillips and a number of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be conducted, Sunday, February, 16, at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, by Rev. Craigan Blankenship and Rev. Dr. Jason Moss. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 16, one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the Phillips home.
