William James "Jimmy" Payne, Sr.

William James “Jimmy “Payne, age 77, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at his home. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late William James Payne, Sr. and Sara Eubanks Payne. He was a long-time mechanic in the textile industry. He loved old cars and was a United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

He is survived by 2 sons, James “Billy” Payne and Michael Lee Payne and his wife, Tasha; 3 grandchildren, Luke Payne, Harleigh Jo Payne and Oliva Louise Johnson and a great grandson, Gannon Payne and his brother, Keith Payne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Francis Griffin Payne and 3 brothers, Bennie Francis Payne, Michael Stallings and Billy Stallings.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday morning, August 16, 2024, in Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C. the Rev. Steve Anglin will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
