William Ronald “Butter” Collins, age 76, of Bethune, S.C. passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, in McCoy Memorial Nursing Home, Bishopville, S.C. Born in Bethune, S.C., he was a son of the late William Leroy Collins and Mae Nell Roach Collins. He retired from the Town of Bethune, and he loved to fish. Mr. Collins was also a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by 2 children, Joie C. Baxley and Ronald Shonn (Melissa) Collins all of Bethune, S.C.; 4 grandchildren, Drake (Katie) Baxley, Kade Baxley, Ricky Robinson and Kaden Robinson; 1 great grandchild, Avie Baxley; 2 brothers, Mark Elton (Carolyn) Collins of Bethune, S.C., Mickey Leon (Janice) Collins of Bethune; a sister, Kathy LaJean Collins of Bethune, S.C.; 3 sisters in law; Bobbie Collins of Bethune, S.C., Brenda Collins of Bethune, S.C. and Wanda Collins of Hartsville, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Donald Leroy “Catfish” Collins, David Lauren “Doc” Collins, Joel Timothy “Curly” Collins and Clarence Wilson Collins.
The family will gather and receive friends, Tuesday evening, December 3, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 East Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. and other times at the home of his daughter, Joie Baxley.
Memorial remembrances in memory of Mr. Collins may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the charity of one’s choice.
