A memorial service to celebrate the life of Wanda Sowell Williams, 62 of Little River, S.C. and formerly of Kershaw, S.C. will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday morning, November 13, 2014, from Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor. St., Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Wanda died Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of Myrtis Ann Faulkenberry Sowell and the late Paul Harold Sowell. She had been a registered nurse at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster and Kershaw County Medical Center now KershawHealth, Camden. Mrs. Williams also owned and operated Occasions Flowers and Gifts in Kershaw for a number of years. She was a graduate of Kershaw High School and the nursing program at USC- Lancaster. Wanda enjoyed the beach, playing the piano and sewing. She also was a member of First Baptist Church, Kershaw. Surviving in addition to her mother of Camden are her husband, Stephen Williams of Little River, S.C.; her daughter, Stephanie W. Thompson and her husband Jody of Longs, S.C.; two grandchildren, Lauren and Parker Thompson, two sisters; Ginger S. Kozelski and her husband Ken of Camden, Amy S. Sigmon and her husband Ike of Liberty Hill, S.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Wayne Sowell. The family will receive friends following the service at the Conference Center.
