Wallace David Williams

Wallace David Williams, age 76 of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Heath Springs, S.C. on May 25, 1948, to Frances Wylie Williams and the late Randolph Douglas “Peg” Williams. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Camden High School and a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era from 1968-1970. He was a former drill instructor at Fort Jackson Army Base completing his military service. Following his service at Fort Jackson he spent many years in the textile industry. Mr. Williams was an excellent auto body repairman over a span of 20 years who took great pride in his work. He enjoyed boating, fishing and was a talented woodworker. Mr. Williams was a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church where he served in various capacities. He also was president of the Heath Springs Area Veterans Monument Committee and helped arrange many honor flights for veterans.

In addition to his mother Frances of Heath Springs, S.C. he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Andrea W. Williams of the home; 3 children, David McGarity (Dana) Williams, Randa Lee (Mel) Williams and Luther Nelson (Britt) Williams; 3 grandchildren, David Michael Williams, Anna Caroline Williams and Savannah Marie Williams; his siblings, Randa (Bill) Wilkes, Ronald Douglas (Madeline) Williams, Kenneth Wayne (Glenda) Williams, Patsy Williams, Karen (Joe) Perrotta, Mark Randolph (Cyrilla) Williams and Richard Keith (Roseanna) Williams. 

The family will receive friends, Thursday evening, September 26, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. 

A funeral service to remember and honor his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday afternoon, September 27, 2024, in the sanctuary of HEATH SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH. Rev. Dr. Frankie Melton and Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors. 

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Mr. Williams may be made to Heath Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058 or Heath Springs Area Veterans Monuments c/o Barbara Bowers, P.O. Box 352, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058 in which he gave his time and volunteered to both with a servant’s heart.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, grandson and his nephews.

Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
