Virginia Robinson

A funeral service for Virginia Horton Robinson, 95, of Kershaw will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 16 in Pineview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Greg Gunter and Keith Hinson will officiate. Mrs. Robinson, widow of Carl Leonard Robinson, Sr., died Tuesday, March 13, in Springdale Heathcare, Camden. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Shelley B. and Minnie Cauthen Horton. She was a homemaker and a member of Pineview Baptist Church. She also loved to cook and garden. Surviving are 4 daughters, Jean Hightower (Haskell) of Kershaw, Karen Thompson (Roger) of Heath Springs, Eleanor Driskell (Dick) of Cayce, Barbara Busbee (Donnie) of Cayce; 4 sons, Carl Robinson, Jr. (Marlene), Larry Robinson (Pat), Raymond Robinson (Joyce), Roland Robinson (Sally) all of Kershaw; son-in-law, Mitchell Hightower of Kershaw; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, and a sister; Kathleen Sowell of Kershaw. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Rita Diane Robinson, Vivian Hightower; 2 sisters, Lillian Faulkenberry, Ruth Williams and 2 brothers, Harvey Horton and Shelley Horton. The family invites everyone following the committal service to join them in the Family Life Center for a time of sharing and a reception. Memorials may be made to Pineview Baptist Church- Building Fund, 224 Youngs Bend Rd., Kershaw, S.C. 29067. The family is at the Hightower home, 405 Youngs Bend Rd., Kershaw.
