Vera Lee Knight

A funeral service for Vera Lee Knight, 83 of Kershaw will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home . Pastor Cotton Pate and Hospice Chaplain Ronnie Owens will officiate. Burial will follow in the DeKalb Baptist Church Cemetery, Camden with Rev. Dr. Frankie Melton officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 19, at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home, 212 East Third St., Kershaw. Mrs. Knight died Monday evening, June 16, 2014 at her home. Born in Jefferson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Yance and Evelyn Hopkins Boone. She retired from Springs Industries and attended Laurel Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, listening to music and dancing. Surviving are two sons, James Otis “ Bo” Roberts and his wife Mary, Grady Thomas Roberts and his wife Lynn all of Kershaw; two daughters, Laura Darlene Holden and her husband Tillman Byrd of Kershaw, Sussie Mae Gunn and her husband Robert of Lancaster, 21 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia of Lancaster, Elaine and Teresa of Rock Hill and two brothers, Rayburn of Van Wyck and Butch Boone of Rock Hill.
