Funeral services for Tommy Ross Phillips, 57, and his wife, Elizabeth Ann Lib Phillips, 56, will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010, at First Baptist Church, 210 North Matson Street, Kershaw, at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Holland will officiate.
Mr. and Mrs. Phillips died at their home, 2029 Baron DeKalb Rd, Camden, Wednesday, January 6, 2010, due to a house fire. Mr. Phillips was born in Lancaster, December 4, 1952. He was the son of the late Thomas Franklin and Marie Blackmon Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was born in Lancaster, August 27, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Harold Byron and Martha Ann Williams Little. He was a project superintendent for Westinghouse and was co-owner of Clearwater Cove Marnia on Lake Wateree. He was also a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. She was the proprietor and co-owner of Clearwater Cove Marina also.
Surviving are a daughter; Lana Broughton and her husband Benjie and a son; Cary Phillips and his wife Melinda and two grandchildren; Owen Broughton and Mallory Phillips all of Kershaw. Mr. Phillips is also survived by a sister; Gloria B. Campbell and her husband Ben of Monroe, N.C. Mrs. Phillips is also survived by a sister; Nancy L. Catoe and her husband Bobby of Kershaw.
Surviving also are nephews; Jason and Chris Hunter, Roddy and Mark Phillips, Vick Campbell and nieces; Kelsey Catoe and Kristen Donavon. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by a brother; Roger Dale Phillips and Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by a sister; Betty Jean Little.
The family will receive friends, Friday, January 8, 2010, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, 732 Phillipstown Road, Kershaw.
