A graveside service for Thomas Neil Thompson, 83 of Lancaster, SC, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Heath Springs with Military Honors. The Rev. Karen Ballard will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Thompson died Thursday, October 22, at Morningside of Lancaster. Born in the Buffalo community of Kershaw, he was a son of the late Johny Jefferson and Lillie Mae Griffin Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a electrical contractor, owning his own company, Thompson Electric. He was a member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church, Liberty Hill, a life member of Barron Masonic Lodge # 261 and Order of the Eastern Star Heath Springs Chapter, # 259. He also was a Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite. Mr. Thompson served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katie Robinson Thompson and a son, Kevan N. Thompson. He is survived by a daughter, Jane Renee Thompson, a son, Richard L. Thompson; 2 daughters-in-law, Linda Thompson and Sandra Fletcher Thompson; 3 grandchildren, Mindy E.(Joshua) Baker, Katherine S. (Gatlin Jenkins) Thompson and Dylan Hammond and 4 great grandchildren, Joseph Allan Cox, Nataleigh E. Baker, Kirsten L. Jenkins and Olivia Monroe Baker.
