Thomas Edward Roberts

Thomas Edward Roberts, 91, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his home. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Johnny Coleman Roberts and Annie Bell Catoe Roberts Fields. Mr. Roberts was a United States Army veteran. He also enjoyed fishing and turkey hunting. He retired from Fort Jackson Civil Service after 30 years of service.

He is survived by 2 sons, Billy E. (Carolyn) Roberts of Gaston, S.C., Rickey D. (Sherry) Roberts of Kershaw, S.C.; 2 daughters, Patricia R. (Jimmy) Meadors of Kershaw, SC. and Helen R. (Herbert) Nates of Wagener, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Ruth A. Becker Roberts of Lugoff, S.C.; 3 brothers, Johnnie D. (Rose Mary) Roberts of Rock Hill, S.C., Ronnie W. Roberts of Kershaw, S.C. and Monnie R. Roberts of Kershaw, S.C.; 2 sisters, Brenda J. Roberts (Phillip) Baker of Heath Springs, S.C. and Nancy C. Roberts (Harry) Hilton of Kershaw, S.C. and a special brother-in-law that was like a son, Bobby Ray Moree, Sr. of Lancaster, S.C. He is also survived by 3 brother-in-laws, Perry Lee Moree of Georgia, Tommy (Brenda) Moree of Georgia and William (Loria) Moree of S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 7 great –great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Rosevon Moree Roberts; 2 sisters, Dorothy Lee Roberts Carnes and Bonnie Sue Roberts Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Mary Evon Odom Roberts; a son, Tommy Derrick Roberts and a grandson, Nathan Brady Roberts.

The family will receive friends, Friday, May 7, 2021, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be conducted, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Rev. James Johnson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery with military honors.
