Terry Dixon Sims, 71, of Kershaw, passed away at his home, Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was a son of the late Abraham Sims and Stella Carter Garrett. Mr. Sims was a member of Abney Baptist Church and a United States Marine Vietnam veteran. He loved riding his tractor and fishing. He especially loved his girls and grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, with whom he has shared 35 years, Faye Faulkenberry Sims; 2 daughters, Nikki Gates (Justin) of Heath Springs, S.C. and Krystal McManus (Tommy) of Kershaw, S.C.; his son, James Lee Sims (Sabrina) of Longs, S.C.; 5 grandchildren, Reese Gates, Reid Gates, Elijah Gates, Noah McManus, and James Lee Sims, Jr.; 2 sisters, Vickie Combs (Spencer) of Fort Mill, S.C. and Dixie Follette of Salisbury, N.C. and his brother, Jimmy Sims (Linda) of Trinity, N.C.
A graveside service will be held, Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Abney Baptist Church cemetery with military honors. Rev. Scott Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery
The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the family will receive friends in the Family Life Center.
