Sylvia P. Hegler

Sylvia Dianna Perry Hegler, age 77, of Lancaster, S.C., died Tuesday, February 13, 2024, after a brief illness at MUSC Charleston, Charleston, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Herman Franklin Perry and Madeline Pauline “Mattie” Thurman Perry. She retired from Springs Customer Service Center. Sylvia loved to play bingo, play cards, dance with her grandchildren, and spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Lambert A. Hegler in 1992 and 2 brothers, Wofford “Mickey” Perry and Franklin Eugene “Frankie” Perry and his wife, Teresa Ann B. Perry.

She is survived by 2 loving daughters, Laura Boone and her husband, Wayne Boone and Crystal H. Faile and her husband, the Honorable Barry Faile all of Lancaster, S.C.: 6 grandchildren, Jordan Hinson and her husband, Justin, Kendall Boone, Hannah Boone, Hunter Faile, Kelsey F. Baker and her husband, Austin and Connor Faile and his wife, Carsyn; 4 great grandchildren, Navy Hinson, Kylar Hinson, Brently Baker and Josie Baker and her brother, Jerry Perry and his wife, Judy of Lancaster, S.C.

A service to celebrate her life will be held from the graveside on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 3:00 o’clock p.m. in Lancaster Memorial Park. The Rev. Patrick Blackmon will officiate. The burial will be in the cemetery.

The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Crystal Faile.

Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Hegler may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
