Sylvia H. Bowers

A funeral service for Sylvia Lee Hunter Bowers, 67, of Westville, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Refuge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Donnie Barrett and Tommy Bowers will officiate. Mrs. Bowers, wife of Grady T. Bowers, Sr., died Saturday, March 10, at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Everett Andrew and Rosa Lee Catoe Hunter. She was retired from textile manufacturing and a member of Refuge Baptist Church. She also enjoyed working with flowers and fishing. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are her brother-in-law, Eddie Blackmon of Lugoff; 3 nieces, Sue Pardue, Rose Mary Cauthen, June Blackmon and a number of great nieces. She was preceded in death by her only son, Grady “Ted” Bowers, Jr., a brother, Wayne Hunter and a sister, Virginia H. Blackmon. The family will receive friends, Monday, March 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw and other times at 335 Payne Pond Rd. Westville.
