Susie Catoe Faulkenberry

Susie Catoe Faulkenberry passed away peacefully after an extended illness and under the care of Kershaw Health Hospice, Wednesday, April 21. Born July 26, 1924, in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Mollie Parish Catoe. Mrs. Faulkenberry was a loving, caring lady who was devoted to her family. Sue was an avid reader. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, traveling in the motor home, and shopping at flea markets and yard sales. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. Faulkenberry retired from Springs Industries of Kershaw. Before her illness she was active in Senior Citizens in Kershaw and the Bojangles Breakfast Club. Mrs. Faulkenberry was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Manly Junior Faulkenberry.

Surviving are a son; Benny K. Faulkenberry and daughter-in-law, Karen of Camden; daughter, Phyllis Faulkenberry Dorn and son-in-law, Richard Dorn of Dallas, Texas; grandchild, Chrissy Carraway and her husband, Jeff, of Madison, AL; two great grandchildren, Alex and Rylee of Madison Al; brothers, Willis Catoe of Kershaw and Archie Bubba Catoe and his wife, Annie, of Florence. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Hendrix and brother, Wade Catoe.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m at Buffalo Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. James Way will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, April 23, from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, SC 29067 or Kershaw Health Hospice, 2001 W. DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to friends and the Buffalo Baptist Church Family whose outpouring of love, concern and prayers helped sustain her and the entire family during her illness. The family also appreciates caregiver, Bertha Bass, and the dedicated staff of Kershaw Health Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and support.
