Funeral services for Steve Gardner Williams, Sr., 91 of Kershaw will be held at Baker Conference Center, 105 North Minor Street, Kershaw on Monday, April 28, 2014, at 3:00 pm. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mr. Williams, widower of Ellen B. Williams died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at A. Sam Karesh Longterm Care, Camden. He was born June 19, 1922, a son of the late Perry and Nina Gardner Williams. He is survived by a son, Steve, Jr. and his wife Kendra Flynn Williams of Camden, SC and a daughter, Nina and her husband Thomas Martin Runion, Sr. of Georgetown, SC; a sister, Nannie W. Plyler and her husband Elliott Plyler, Sr. of Summerville, SC; grandsons, Steve Gardner Williams, III, Thomas Martin Runion, Jr., Lee Flynn Williams, and Evan Williams Runion; granddaughters, Larsyn Lee Runion, Perri Ellen Runion, and Kelsey Selena Williams. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Agnes Weill. He was a member and trustee of First Baptist Church, served as President of the John T. Stevens Foundation, and served on numerous boards and committees on the state, county and local levels. Mr. Williams was retired from Palmetto State Savings Bank in Camden, SC and was associated with First Palmetto Savings Bank in Kershaw, SC. Memorials may be made to Kershaw City Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 472, Kershaw, SC 29067. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Monday, April 28, 2014, at Baker Conference Center. The family would like to thank Morningside Assisted Living, Camden and the staff of A. Sam Karesh Longtermcare for the love and care shown to Mr. Williams.
