Ssgt James Olin Roberts

Funeral services for SSGT James Olin Roberts, US Air Force, Retired 79, will be held Thursday, September 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. James Way will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

Mr. Roberts died Monday, September 27, at his home. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Stoy W. and Marie Gardner Roberts. Mr. Roberts was retired from the US Air Force having served 20 years. He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts also loved playing and singing country music.

Surviving are sons; Michael Olin Roberts (Karen) of Sedalia, MO, Tony Phillip Roberts (Carla) of Hampsted, NC, Jimmy Donald Roberts (Candy) of Kenersville, NC, Joel Franklin Roberts (DawnAnne) of Carolina Beach, NC, 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Arnold Roberts (Faye) of Kershaw; sisters, Doris Bradley (Edward) of Kershaw, Rita Roberts of Kershaw, and Freda Robinson (J.B.) of Kershaw. He was predeceased by his wife, Verda Broughton Roberts and son Myron Kenneth Roberts.
