Smith Morgan

Funeral services for Smith Morgan, 93 of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2015, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Hugh McKinney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mr. Morgan died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Springdale Healthcare Center, Camden. Born in Kershaw, SC, he was the son of the late Yancy T. and Minnie Parker Morgan. Mr. Morgan retired as a supervisor with Diversco and attended Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mr. Morgan also served in the US Army. Surviving are a son, Ronnie Morgan (Sherry) of Williston, FL; two daughters, Kay M. (Phil) Douglas of Kershaw, SC, June M. McCoy (fiancé, Wayne) of Lake Murray, SC; seven grandchildren, Matthew Morgan, Morgan R. McCoy, John T. McManus, Alicia (Jeffery) Smith, Wendy K. (John) Coleman, Robyn K. Spens and Nicole M. Spens; a great-grandchild, Caroline Coleman; a sister, Frances M. Beckham and a brother, Harry Lee Morgan both of Kershaw, SC and a daughter-in-law, Sue M. Morgan of Heath Springs, SC. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Morgan and a granddaughter, Shelley Renee Morgan. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2015, one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, 200 West Fourth Street, Kershaw, SC.
