Sibyl Watkins Taylor

Sibyl Watkins Taylor, 90, widow of L. Curtis Taylor, died Tuesday, November 9. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Jesse B. and Margaret C. Davis Watkins. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandkids and reading her bible. She was a loving housewife and mother.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth Tony Taylor of Lavonia, GA.; daughters, Myrtice Meetze of Vero Beach, FL., Valerie Ballard (Stephen) Lancaster; Myra Taylor of Kershaw; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Grace Shirley of Camden; brother, Robbie Watkins of Orange Park, FL. Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Brown, son, Donald Taylor, sisters, Lillian W. Holden and Mary Watkins Spencer, and brothers, J.C. Watkins, Heyward Watkins, Hoyt Watkins, Lawrence Broadus Watkins, Roy Watkins and Jerry Watkins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, November 12, from 6:00 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 67, Kershaw, SC 29067.
