Funeral services for Shirley Taylor Hudson, 77, of Lancaster will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. The Rev. Stephen Owens and Ben Moorefield will officiate. Mrs. Hudson, loving wife of 60 years of Rev. Jack Hudson died Saturday, June 1, at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William Foster and Mary Westbrook Taylor. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of White Springs Baptist Church, Lancaster. Mrs. Hudson loved making quilts and working in her flower gardens. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home, are her son; Jackie Hudson and his wife Darlene of Lugoff, a daughter; Becky Padgett and her husband Marvin of Camden, 2 grandchildren; Stephanie Watts and her husband Daryl of Elgin, Alisha Avant and her husband Shannon of Lugoff, 2 great grandchildren; Carrie Watts and Brayden Avant, a brother; Melvin Taylor and his wife Flo of Lancaster and a sister-in-law; Doris Taylor of Lancaster. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 4, and other times at the home, 1348 Grace Avenue, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Springs Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 1249 Grace Ave., Lancaster, SC 29720 or Homecare and Hospice of Lancaster, Lancaster, SC 29720.
