Shirley Mattern Heiges

Shirley Mattern Heiges, age 77 passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Springdale Healthcare, Camden. Born in Ashland, PA, she was a daughter of the late Leon Joseph and Edna Peterson Mattern. She was a homemaker and a member of Brevard Community Church, Brevard, NC.

Surviving are her son, John W. Heiges, Jr. and his wife Dorry of Mifflinburg, PA; her daughter, Sabrina H. Banner and her husband Kenny of Kershaw; five grandchildren, Kinley Stroup, Chad (Erica) Banner, Brooke Pierce, Garrett (Amy) Banner and John (Beth) Heiges,III; five great grandchildren, Cash Pierce, Dylan Stroup, Bray Pierce, Charlie Banner and Greyson W. Heiges and two sisters, Romaine Taylor of Tampa, FL and Mary Bastian of Wilmington, NC. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Cohick and four brothers, Jerry Mattern, Samuel Mattern, James Mattern and Leon Mattern.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 7 pm at Frontline Biker Church, 116 N. Hampton Street, Kershaw, SC 29067. A visitation will be held Friday, January 8, 2016, from 6–7pm, followed by a service celebrating her life at 7 pm, at Brevard Community Church, Brevard, NC.
