Shirley Elizabeth Blackmon

Shirley Elizabeth Blackmon, age 79 of Martinsville, VA and formerly of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. Born in South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James Price and Christine Lemmons Wilkes. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of One Accord Baptist Church, Martinsville, VA. 

She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna Rollings, Barbara Knight and her husband Chris and a bonus daughter, Janet Carpenter; grandchildren, Mandy Lisenby, Crystal Mobley, LeeLee Mobley, Kayla Fain, Samantha Mobley-Pettit, Cat Rollings, Michelle Catoe, Nichole Rollings, Heather Rollings, Johnathon Mobley, Cody Mobley, Devin Knight, Hannah Carpenter and Justin Carpenter; 30 great grandchildren; her sister, Dolly Copeland and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 children, Dwayne Mobley, Chucky Mobley and Darrell Mobley; 3 grandchildren, Jessica Mobley, Will Rollings and Joshua Rollings, one great grandchild; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

The family will greet friends, Monday, October 28, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held immediately following the visitation in the church sanctuary beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Wray will conduct the service.

The burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C.

Memorial contributions may be made to One Accord Baptist Church, 3630 Kings Highway, Martinsville, VA 24112.

Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
