Shellie Bass, Jr.

Funeral services for Shellie “Buck” Bass, Jr., 81 of Kershaw will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Refuge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Don Knight and Julius Bunch will officiate. Mr. Bass, widower of Susie Mae Hayes Bass died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Andrews, SC, he was the son of the late Shellie E., Sr. and Abbegail Ackerman Bass. He was in the construction business and loved flower gardening. Mr. Bass also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include 2 sons, Shelborn Bass (Dianne) of Kershaw, Shawn Bass (Ann) of Camden; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Mamie Belford of Lexington, Betty Webster (George) of Camden and Irene Hall (Bennie) of Camden. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wilson. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 2960 Old Georgetown Rd., West, Kershaw.
