Scottie Ray Hargett

Scottie Ray Hargett, age 52, of Lancaster, S.C., passed away, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of Virginia Diane Catoe Faile and the late Billy Ray Hargett. Scottie was a talented wood worker and made custom cabinets. He loved music and played the guitar. He was a gentle loving husband, father, and loyal friend. He often could be found lending a helping hand to a stranger or taking in a stray animal. Scottie was a simple man and protective of his family.

He is survived in addition to his mother by his wife, Kathy Vick Hargett; 4 children, Jonathan Hargett, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Bryan, and Westley Shipman; 11 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and 2 brothers, Stephen Hargett and Clint Hargett.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 2:00 o’clock p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. Pastor Lonnie Brazell will officiate.
