S. W. Faile, Jr.

Samuel Walter “S.W.” Faile, Jr., age 89, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Friday morning, March 8, 2024, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Samuel Walter Faile, Sr., and Nellie Roberts Faile. He retired from the E.I. DuPont Company and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling and driving on the back roads. Mr. Faile was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Virginia Lee Estridge Faile; 2 daughters, Becky Faile Liles and her husband, Steve of Laurinburg, N.C. and Teresa Crenshaw and her husband, Freddy of Lancaster, S.C. ; a son, Johnny Rogers and his wife, Jeri of Kershaw, S.C.; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas (Christi) Liles of Laurinburg, N.C., Colby (Rusty) Stiles of Jackson Springs, N.C., Leann (Jonathan) Snipes of Lancaster, S.C., Allison (Jordan) Short of Lancaster, S.C., Lauren (Jacob) Hare of Charlotte, N.C. and Hannah (Drew) Dutton of Lancaster, S.C.; a number of great grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Johnson of Lancaster, S.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sadie Mungo and 4 brothers, Robert Faile, J.T. Faile, Lorenzo T. Faile, and Cary Faile.

A graveside service will be held, Monday, March 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery, Kershaw, S. C. Rev. Steve Warren will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery with military honors.
