Rudolph Bill Rudy Faulkenberry, 84, died Tuesday, August 3, at his home. Born in Flat Creek Township of Kershaw, he was the son of the late Ceamon and Stella Hough Faulkenberry. Mr. Faulkenberry was a carpenter and a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church. He was also a US Army World War II veteran having served on Okinawa. He loved fishing, hunting, whittling, and gardening.
Mr. Faulkenberry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Neal Sims Faulkenberry; children, Randy Sheep Dog Faulkenberry (Pat) of Flat Creek, Jan Catoe (Sonny) of Flat Creek, Billy Hay Stack Faulkenberry (Carla) of Flat Creek, and Beth Jenkins (Clay) of Flat Creek; 10 grandchildren, Brad and Chuck Faulkenberry, Griff and Brannan Catoe, Kirk and Kody Faulkenberry, Brance, Cori, and Gatlin Jenkins; 10 great grandchildren, Garret, Katie,
Brent, Toby, Jackson, Kaden, Allan, Malori, Walker, and Kirsten, a brother; Marvin Teet Faulkenberry of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a grandson; Jared Catoe, a sister; Nancy Couch and 5 brothers; Ernest, Charlie, Joe, Fat and Al Faulkenberry.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 5, at 11:00 a.m at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Thurmond Johnson and Gerald Starnes will officiate.
