Rosa Lee Swartz

Rosa Lee Swartz passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of
January 19, 2019 in Ridgeway SC. Rosie, as most people referred to her
was born July 26, 1936 in Harrisonburg VA to the former Alvin W. Horn Sr.
and Mildred Eaton Horn.

Rosie was married to Roy L Swartz Sr. who proceeded her in death
January 1985. She also leaves three brothers Charles E. Horn Sr. of
Linville VA and William L. (Bill) Horn and Alvin W. Horn Jr. both of
Harrisonburg. Rosie, is survived by three children Rev. Dennis L Swartz of
Washington DC, Peggy A. Swartz of Staunton VA and Vicky L Swartz of
Kershaw SC and stepson Nelson E Swartz of Harrisonburg. She also
leaves three grandchildren John J Bobbio Jr. of Fishersville VA, Justin H
Swartz of Churchville VA and Courtney F James of Kershaw SC and seven
great-grandchildren.

In her early years, Rosie cared for children in their homes and was later
employed as a line worker at the former Shenandoah Poultry in
Harrisonburg. After leaving Shenandoah Poultry she worked at numerous
jobs in and around Harrisonburg and before retirement was employed as a
home health aide and companion.

Rosie was happiest when she was invited to family gatherings where she
was almost always the center of attention. Rosie was also a dedicated
crafter and loved making and then selling her crafts at local craft shows
along with her sister-in-law and side-kick, Mary M Swartz until her death on
May 6, 2003.

There will be a celebration of Life Service and reception honoring Rosie with
Rev. Dennis Swartz officiating February 9, 2019, from 1-4 pm at The
Harrisonburg Eagles #4150 1230 Old Furnace Rd. Harrisonburg VA 22802.
Family and friends are invited to bring their pictures, stories, and memories
of her to share.

At her request, Rosie, was cremated, and her ashes will be interred
alongside her husband at East Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later
