Ronnie Ellison Roberts

Ronnie Ellison Roberts, age 78 of Surfside Beach, S.C. and formerly of Heath Springs, S.C. passed away, Thursday evening, January 30, 2025, at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet, S.C. Born in Camden, S.C. he was a son of the late Cletus Thomas Roberts and Nettie Mae Whitaker Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a police officer for over 20 years. He also was a driving instructor and taught CWP classes. He enjoyed carpentry work and woodworking. He also served in the National Guard. Mr. Roberts was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. and attended Forestbrook Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, S.C. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rebecca McNeely “Becky” Roberts; his son, Ronnie Michael “Mike” Roberts and his wife, Bennie of Surfside Beach, S.C.; 2 brothers, Wayne Roberts and his wife, Julia and Johnny Roberts and his wife, Diane all of Kershaw, S.C. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jackie Roberts and Ted Roberts. 

The family will receive friends, Monday, February 3, 2025, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 P.M. at Flint Ridge Baptist Church Family Life Center. 

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held following the visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the church Family Life Center. Rev. Zach Byrd and Dr. Trent McLaughlin will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
