Ronald Derek Outen

A funeral service for Ronald Derek Outen, 34, of Cassatt, SC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 o’clock p.m. at the Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ronnie Outen,8454 Flat Creek Road, Kershaw, SC .

Derek died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Born in Camden, SC, he was a son of William Ronald Outen and Faye Lanett Lemacks Outen. He attended Clemson University and USC-Lancaster. Derek liked to read, play video games, fish, golf, play basketball and tennis. He also was a Sunday School teacher at Cornerstone Church of God of Prophecy, Camden, SC where he was a member.

Surviving in addition to his father and mother are his sister, Ashley Renee Outen and her fiancé Matthew Brian King of Camden, SC; his brother, Joshua Patrick Outen of Camden, SC; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his cats, Tom Tom and Sweetums and his dog, Rascal. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W.L. and Carrie Outen and his maternal grandparents, Walter E. and Annie Mae Lemacks.
