Roger Dale Phillips

Roger Dale Phillips, 65, died Friday, December 12, 2008 in Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia, S.C. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. in First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Donald Coppedge will officiate.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Thomas Franklin and Marie Blackmon Phillips. He was a welder. Mr. Phillips served in the US Navy and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his former wife; Patty McDonald of Kershaw, two sons; Roddy Phillips and his wife Allana and Mark Phillips and his wife Shannon all of Kershaw, three grandchildren; Luke Phillips, Tyler Phillips and Kelsey Phillips all of Kershaw, a sister; Gloria Campbell and her husband Ben of Monroe, N.C. and a brother; Tommy Phillips and his wife Lib of Kershaw. Also surviving is his lifetime friend; Yank Olds of Kershaw. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Hutto Phillips.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, December 14, 2008, from 4 to 6 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 261 Decree Road, Kershaw.
