Funeral services for Rodie Idell Bowers Dunn, 87, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, January 27, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson. The Revs. Terry Coder, George Brasington and Todd Montgomery will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Dunn, widow of Ralph B. Dunn died Wednesday, January 24, at her home. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Marcher and Sally Morris Bowers. Mrs. Dunn retired from Springs Industries after 37 ½ years of service. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she was a member of the Young At Heart Group. Mrs. Dunn also was a member of the Kershaw Senior Citizens. She loved cooking, canning, especially making plum jelly and volunteering for the Mt. Pisgah –Buffalo Rescue Squad.

Surviving are her 4 children, Aaron Dunn and his special friend, Rick Antley, Becky Dunn, Zoe Phillips and her husband Maurice and Mark Dunn; 4 grandchildren, Rebekah (Ryan) Watson, Stephanie (Steven) Dunn, Kaitlyn (Rusty) Shinault, Jonathan Dunn and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ruth Whitaker, Lizzie Hinson and Peggy Strickland.

The family will receive friends, Friday evening, January 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
