Robert O. Plyler

A graveside service for Robert O. Plyler, 71, of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate. Mr. Plyler widower of Peggy Robinson Plyler died Saturday, July 7, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Sidie O. and Florence Threatt Plyler. He was retired from the manufacturing business. Mr. Plyler was active in Midway Baptist Church where he was a member, by serving as deacon, assistant Sunday School teacher and sound system technician. Surviving are 2 daughters, Lisa P. Williams and her husband Stephen of Kershaw, Gena P. Richardson and her husband Michael of Monroe, N.C., 5 grandchildren, Kent Williams (Amanda), Brooke Gentiles, Kayla Faile, Cody Faile, Kenzie Faile and a great grandchild, Easton Hayes; his siblings, Margaret Rollings of Swansea, Rev. Larry Plyler and his wife Marcia of Kershaw, Jerry Plyler of Swansea, Brady Plyler and his wife Pat and Brenda Horton all of Kershaw. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Plyler. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 10, beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of his daughter, 7457 Old Jefferson Highway, Kershaw.
