Funeral services for Robert Lee Langley, 90, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2011, in Bethany Baptist Church, Westville. Rev. Craigan Blankenship will officiate. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mr. Langley, widower of Lou Jane Baker Langley died Friday, December 31, 2010, at his daughter's home, Kershaw. Born in Bethune, he was the son of the late Carson Lee and Eva Taylor Langley. He retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor after 42 years of service. He was a former member of the CC Camp and former truck driver for Haile Goldmine. Mr. Langley was a active member of Bethany Baptist Church and had served as a deacon. He also was a member of Abney Masonic Lodge # 211 for 60 plus years, a member of Kershaw Shrine Club and Jamil Temple.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Marie Langley Catoe (Sammy) of Camden, Gwen Langley Young (Jimmy) of Kershaw, 3 grandchildren; Angie Helms (David) , Robbie Hunter (Lee) and Tiffany Williams (Chad) all of Kershaw, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a sister; Elaine Langley Watts of Kershaw and a brother; Howard Langley of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother; Edward Langley.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 1, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
