Robert Frederick Burton

Funeral services for Robert Frederick Bobby Burton, 76, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, Kershaw. Dr. Samuel Catoe will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw.

Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Eddie James and Lillian Bowen Burton. Mr. Burton died Thursday evening, November 19, at his home. Mr. Burton retired from the S.C. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Park Street Baptist Church, Columbia and was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was married to Edith Catoe Burton.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are; a daughter; Donna B. Usher and her husband Darryl of Lancaster, Robert F. Burton, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Lancaster, a granddaughter; Brittany Usher, two grandsons; Joshua Usher and his wife Jessica and Andrew Burton all of Lancaster, two great grandchildren; Ansley Usher and Kailn Usher, a sister; Joan B. Wise and her husband Lynwood of Lexington, a brother; Kenneth Burton of Leesville, a sister-in-law; Mary Burton of Columbia and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother; James T. Burton.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 21, prior to the service from 1 to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
