Robert D. Bailey

Robert Darrell Bailey, aged 70, was born on February 26, 1954. He peacefully fell into eternal sleep on May 11, 2024, at his home in Kershaw, SC. He was the son of Nathan and Vera Bailey from Princeton, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Ann Bailey; his daughter, Melissa Ann Roberts, and her husband, Robert Roberts, of Kershaw, SC; and his son, Robert Andrew Bailey, and wife, Maleia Bailey, of Rock Hill, SC. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Joshua Bailey and his wife, Brooke Bailey, along with their son, Asher Bailey, and the soon-to-arrive Maxeen Bailey of Fort Mill, SC; his granddaughter, Lexe Sims, her husband, Jacob Sims, and their child, Rexon Sims, of Kershaw, SC; and his grandchildren, Rylan Bailey, Nathan Bailey, Alyssa Moran-Bailey, and great-granddaughter, Waverly Bailey, of Rock Hill, SC. Robert was a beloved husband, Daddy, and Pawpaw—affectionately known as 'Pops.'

A retired coal miner and truck driver, he also cared for his mother. In retirement, he found his greatest joy with his family and enjoyed tackling home projects with his wife. He was the sunshine on a cloudy day with his jokes and one-liners. A private family viewing will be held at Baker's Funeral Home in Kershaw, SC.

He will travel to his final home in Princeton, WV. The funeral service will take place at Seaver Funeral Home on Friday, May 17th, at 11:00 AM, followed by the burial at Roselawn Cemetery at 12:00 PM. He always walked out our door with, 'Glad you got to see me'—we always were.
