Richard B. Riddle

Funeral services with military rites for Richard Boyd Riddle, 82, will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Kershaw with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant Fersner will officiate. Mr. Riddle died August 2, 2012 in KershawHealth. Born in Asheville, N.C., he was the son of the late Jason Thomas and Kathleen Parham Riddle. Mr. Riddle had retired from the U.S. Air Force and Springs Cafeteria. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kershaw, the American Legion, and Sergeants Association. Surviving are his wife, Vera Sowell Riddle; children, Patricia Riddle Bragdon (George) of Lancaster, Dianne H. Gregory (Wallace ) of Edisto, L.R. Herod of Kooskia, Idaho, and Perry A. Herod (Gwen) of Sumter; grandchildren, B.G. and Ashley Bragdon of Lancaster, William Gregory (Jennifer) of Seattle, Washington, Randi Lee Timmons (Chris) of Monks Corner, Matthew Herod (Christi) of Sumter, Benjamin Herod (Charlotte) of Manning and Jacob Herod (Amanda) of Sumter; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Riddle of Texas. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Carl, Don, and Frank Riddle. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 5, in the First Baptist Church Parlor.
