Ricardo Mendez

Services for Ricardo Mendez, 85, of Kershaw and formerly of New York and Miami will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 15, 2011, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family following the service. Mr. Mendez will be cremated following the service and inurnment will take place in New York. Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico , he was the son of the late Roque and Rosa Torres Mendez. Mr. Mendez died Monday, September 12, at the home of his daughter in Kershaw. He was the owner/operator of a body shop repair business in New York and Miami before moving to Kershaw in May of this year. Surviving are 3 sons; Gilbert, Norberto and Christian, 4 daughters; Mildred, Norma, Vivian, and Araceles, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Maria, Mary, Blanca and a brother; Angel. He was preceded in death by a son; Richie and his first wife; Iris. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
