Rev. Thomas F. Taylor

Funeral services for Rev. Thomas Taylor, 74, will be held Friday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Abney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Todd Morris, Rev. Dr. Rick Henderson, Rev. Doug Humphries and Rev. Jackie Hinson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the home and following the service in the church fellowship hall. Rev. Taylor died Tuesday, September 28 at his home. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of late Jesse Lee and Emma Mae Outen Taylor. Rev. Taylor served Brenton Baptist Church, Brenton, W. Va., Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Nichols, SC, Long Branch Baptist Church, Jefferson, and Abney Baptist Church, Kershaw. He was also a US Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette McInvaille Taylor; grandsons, Michael Shrewsbury of King, NC, and Johnny Shrewsbury of US Army, Colorado; brother, Paul Taylor of Bethune. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Joan Shrewsbury and a sister, Margie Taylor.
