Rev. Larry T. Zanger

Rev. Larry Thomas Zanger, age 70, minister of the gospel, passed away, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, S.C. Born in Hamtramck, MI, he was a son of the late Fred Zanger and Mabel Bernice Thayer Zanger. He was a minister and an electrical contractor.

Rev. Zanger loved electronics, technology and volunteering. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to Israel. He did volunteer work with OneHundredFold and missionary work in Israel and Africa.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2020, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Tennant, minister of Zamar Church, Lancaster, S.C., Rev. Warren Jones and Mr. Joe Shrewsbury will officiate.

The family will greet friends and relatives immediately following the service at the funeral home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kay Lynn Welch Zanger; a son, Jack Zanger; 2 daughters, Misty Douglas and Kelli Oyewole and her husband, Anthony; 10 grandchildren, Taylor Zanger, Shawn Dilldine, Kenzy Hearn, Michaela Douglas, Morgan Douglas, Matthew Douglas, Adriana Douglas, Payton Zanger and Peter Zanger; 6 great grandchildren, Campton, Parker, Gracie, Nick, Hadley and Zamora; his sister, Shirley Harris and 3 brothers, Fred Zanger, Jimmy Zanger and Donnie Zanger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nick Zanger and a brother, Tommy Zanger.
