Rev. Dr. William Todd Morris

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rev. Dr. William Todd Morris, 49, Minister of the Gospel, will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012, from the sanctuary of Abney Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, in the church cemetery. Dr. Morris died Monday, February 20, 2012, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He remained committed to the lord to end preaching up until two weeks ago. Born in Dade County, Florida, he was the son of Altha Dean Ball Morris Strickland and the late William Lee Morris. Dr. Morris was a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary and was currently serving as the minister of Abney Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Berean Pastors Fellowship and served on the Anderson University Board of Trustees. Surviving in addition to his mother Dean Strickland; his loving wife, Terry Morris; 2 sons, Zachary Morris and Joshua Morris of the home and his step-father, O.W. Strickland. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, February 21, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
