Rev. Donald W. Coppedge

Rev. Donald Walton Coppedge, 88, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday morning, November 23, 2020, at his home. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late Arthur Walton Coppedge and Pauline Short Coppedge. He was a Baptist minister for 60 plus years serving numerous churches. Rev. Coppedge received his BA in English from Furman University prior to graduating from New Orleans Theological Seminary. He enjoyed wood working. He had served as Fire Chief for Buford Fire Department and served with the Buffalo-Mt. Pisgah Fire Department and EMS. Rev. Coppedge served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Phyllis Nations Coppedge; 2 daughters, Donna C. (Larry) Vincent, Paula C. (Foster) Truesdale; a son, Philip W. (Deborah) Coppedge; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a sister, Shirley Langley.

Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday morning, November 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 210 N. Matson, St., Kershaw, S.C. where he was a member. Rev. Bobby Massey will officiate.

Graveside services will be conducted following the church service in the Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Bryant D. Fersner. Military honors and burial will follow.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service in the cemetery.
