Raymond Clyde Mcmanus

Raymond McManus, 73, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at home. Born June 17, 1938, in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late J.B. and Grace Reeves McManus. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Lancaster. He was a devoted, loving family man who enjoyed raising livestock and being outdoors. Mr. McManus retired from Stafford Rail and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. McManus is survived by his wife, Sara Frances McManus of 45 years; a daughter, Lisa Faile and her husband Stacy of Kershaw; 3 step-children, Debbie Harris and her husband Randy of Lancaster, Rick Whitaker and his wife Paula , Darlene Parker and her husband Robert all of Kershaw; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews; a brother, Ray Von McManus and his wife Doris and a sister, Ruth Miller all of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, J.P. “Sonny” McManus, Pierce McManus and a sister Doris McManus. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. McManus will be held Monday, April 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Kershaw, with the Rev. Steve Neal officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church . Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Lancaster.
