A graveside service for Ray Warren Mackey 84, of Heath Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, in Oakhurst Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Mackey will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the church sanctuary and other times at the home of his daughter, 327 West Caston St., Heath Springs.

Mr. Mackey died Wednesday evening, September 14, at his home. Born in Heath Springs, he was a son of the late Finley Simon and Sara Leola Bowers Mackey. Mr. Mackey was a gifted electrician, plumber and contractor. He also was a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church and had served as mayor of Heath Springs.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Margaret Neal Mackey of the home; 3 children, Debra Mackey of Heath Springs, Rev. Steve Mackey and his wife, Vicki of Heath Springs, and Carol Mackey Johnson and her husband, Allen of Monroe, N.C.; 4 grandchildren, Dana Tyson and her husband Sam of Waxhaw, N.C., Liz Bell and her husband Benjy of Heath Springs, Allison Snipes and her husband Travis of Heath Springs, and Will Johnson of Monroe, N.C.; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mary Donna Mellon of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Claire Mackey.

Memorials may be made to Thorn Hill Baptist Church, 2587 Kershaw Country Club Road, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058.
