Funeral services for Randolph Jewett, 80, of Heath Springs, will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church-Kershaw with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, March 25, from 6:007:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 67, Kershaw, SC 29067, or to Parkinson Association of the Carolinas, 5970 Fairview Road, Suite 725, Charlotte, N.C. 28210, or Home Care and Hospice of Lancaster, 902 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
Mr. Jewett died Wednesday, March 23, at his residence. Born in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Luther and Maybelle Montgomery Jewett. Mr. Jewett had retired from Springs Industries, Customer Service Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon. He loved gardening and the outdoors. Mr. Jewett was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Hazelene Sims Jewett of the home; daughter, Susan J. Hinson (Daryl) of Kershaw; granddaughter, Rachel H. Edwards (Lance) of Liberty; grandson, Jordan Hinson (Maegan) of Liberty; sisters, Theo Stroud (Bobby) of Kershaw, Linda Bradley (Kenneth) of Mint Hill, N.C., and Judy Cottone (Frank) of Lancaster; brothers, Robert Jewett (Emanuela) of Trieste, Italy, Mike Jewett (Jennifer) of Lancaster, Gerald Jewett (Janice) of Kershaw, and Carrol Jewett (Sheila) of Kershaw. Mr. Jewett was predeceased by a son, Kenneth S. Jewett, a sister, Erline Boltz, and a brother, Albert Jewett.
