Rae Marie Brewer

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rae Marie Brewer, 45 of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m. in the afternoon, Saturday, December 19, 2015, in First Baptist Church, 210 N. Matson Street, Kershaw. The Rev. Ken Hicks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Brewer Family Plot in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Ms. Brewer passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of John M. Brewer, Jr., MD, and Rae Maillet Brewer. Rae was a 1989 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and a graduate Brenau University, Gainesville, Georgia. While at Brenau she served as president of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a member of the Honor Council at the University and was active in Alumni work. She also held a degree in Hospital Management and was a licensed esthetician. Rae was a former employee of Admiral Insurance and enjoyed her time she currently spent in cosmetic sales. She loved attending both Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Kershaw. She always showed a passion for caring for animals , volunteering with the Humane Society. Rae was an active member of the King Alfred Garden Club. She served on several committees within the Garden Club and was always a gracious and creative hostess. Rae also was a volunteer for the Republican party. Her sweet and innocent spirit was evident throughout her life.

Surviving in addition to her father and mother are her four brothers, John M. Brewer, III, William F. Brewer, Darwin F. Brewer, Claiborne M. Brewer; six nieces; six nephews and her canine companion, Gigi, who she adored.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 19, prior to the service beginning at 12:30 o’clock p.m. in the afternoon in the church parlor.
