Phillip Jack Gardner, 82, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Saturday, April 3, 2021, in Morrell Rehabilitation Center, Hartsville, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late George William Gardner and Lillian Shaw Gardner. Mr. Gardner attended Clemson College and retired from Bell South Telephone Company. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church and Abney Masonic Lodge # 211. Mr. Gardner was an avid Clemson Tiger Fan. He treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He also loved to play golf and travel. Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Todd Gardner.
Surviving are his 2 daughters, Kelly Gardner and Karen Donahue; 5 grandchildren, Amanda (Travis) Lewis, Crystal (David) Linville, Brittany (Justin) West, Ashley Abdelhaq and Kristen Morton; 6 grandchildren, Aubree Lewis, Addison Lewis, Amelia West, Lucas Donahue, Bryce Tester and Kohen Morton; his sister-in-law, Jayne Gardner and his special friend, Nancy Brown. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Glenn Gardner and Nolan Gardner; his sister, Cecelia Teal G. Dorman and his canine companion, Raggs.
Due to COVID-19 the family will hold a private service for family at a later date.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Gardner may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
