Phillip "Buck" Byrd

Funeral services for Phillip Russell “Buck” Byrd, 49 of Kershaw, will be held Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 o’clock p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Mr. Byrd passed away, Wednesday, December 11, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late William Byrd and Ruby Doris Whitley Green. He was employed as a medical courier. Phillip enjoyed fishing, boating and building things.

Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Carsie Watford Byrd; 2 daughters, Amanda (Chad) Pate and Elizabeth Nicole Byrd (Austin) Shrader; 2 sons, Rusty Eugene (Courtney) Byrd and Phillip Russell Byrd, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Brantley Pate, Carter Byrd, Kylie Pate, Harlee Pate and Kyzor Byrd and 3 brothers, Christopher Byrd, Buddy (Chris) Crenshaw and Scotty (Janet) Byrd.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
