Patricia Lane Presley Mcmanus

Patricia Lane Presley McManus , 63, went home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2008 after a long and painful illness. Patricia, known by family and friends as Pat was born January 9, 1945 in Monroe, N.C. She was the youngest of six children born to the late Claude and Bertha Preslar Presley.

She is survived by her husband John C. McManus of the home, a daughter; Sandra P. Parker and her husband Mike of Union County, a son; Tommy G. Phillips and fiance Stephanie of Camden, a step-daughter; Wendy Coleman and her husband John of Columbia; a step-son, Tim McManus of San Francisco, CA., two grandchildren; Drew Parker and Caroline Coleman. Also surviving are four sisters; Pauline Hinds, Christine Courtney and her husband Paul, Margarette Connell, Nancy Riggins and a brother; Clayton E. Presley and his wife Barbara, all of Monroe.

During nthe long years of her illness, Pat found that walking with the Lord even in deep pain was a sweet and precious journey. She was ever thankful to him and looked forward to the time she would see him face to face.

Pat loved the lord, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed the time she had with them. She had a special love for her grandchildren. They were the stars of her night and the sunshine of her days. Pat felt God had given them to her to ease some of the pain of her long illness and fill lonely hours with joy, indeed they did.

She loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, four wheeling through the green woodlands with her husband John. Pat enjoyed all of nature and eagerly waited for the coming of the singing birds and the blooming of the flowers and trees as they announced that Spring was on its way again. How much she is enjoying the beauty and glory of heaven today.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw conducted by the Rev. Dr. Todd Morris and her sister Margarette Connell. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe N.C.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Hegler and Hospice of Kershaw County, especially Paige, Lorraine and Gina, as well as Chaplin Wayne Flowers. They also wish to thank all those who loved, prayed and showed great compassion and concern for Pat and her loved ones.
